Yilan, located in the northeastern part of Taiwan, experiences prolonged rainy seasons due to the influence of the northeast monsoon. Since the 1950s, the Lanyang Plain has undergone farmland readjustment, with about 90% of the agricultural and pastoral land now located in these readjusted areas. Historically, rice paddies dominated agricultural practices, with only a few areas where water was difficult to access being used for dry farming of tea, vegetables, fruit trees, and other high-value crops.
To assist farmers in water-scarce areas in reducing the cost of installing water-saving irrigation systems, our office has been implementing a pipeline irrigation promotion plan since 1985. Each year, we accept applications from farmers and provide subsidies for the following irrigation facilities:
1. Field pipeline irrigation systems, including perforated pipes, sprinklers, micro-sprinklers, and drip irrigation systems.
2. Irrigation control facilities, including motors (water pumps), gasoline (diesel) engines, water storage tanks, and regulation control facilities.

If an applicant meets the eligibility criteria and their application is approved by our office, they must proceed with the installation according to the approved pipeline layout plan. Upon completion, our office will dispatch personnel to inspect the work. Once the inspection is passed, the subsidy will be deposited into the applicant's account in accordance with the Guidelines for Promoting Pipeline Irrigation issued by the Irrigation Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture.
