The regions of Jinzhong Village, Xiaowei Village, Jixin Village, Chengxing Village, Lize Village, Xiehe Village in Wujie Township, and Wuyuan Village in Dongshan Township are low-lying areas near drainage confluences. Frequent backwater effects from high tides result in slow drainage, leading to flooding and long-term waterlogging of farmland, which hinders the growth of rice crops.
Under the Flood-Prone Areas Management Plan, this office successfully secured central government funding for five improvement projects, including the Sibaiming Drainage Improvement Project. The project improved approximately 3,238 meters of drainage channels and constructed the Qingshui Pumping Station. These improvements reduce the risk to life and property, enhance residential living conditions, mitigate adverse conditions, increase land utilization and value, and contribute to balanced regional development, ultimately improving the quality of life.
